Artemis Consulting has been chosen to provide the Library of Congress application architecture and software development services for streaming media services, a streaming player, and a website featuring thousands of historical recordings.
The Streaming media platform will provide enterprise-wide support for streaming of audio and video recordings, as well as support the playlisting of media and providing capabilities of embedding it on other sites.
Jan 7, 2011 -- Artemis Consulting, Inc. has been working with other development partners and Library staff to help build a comprehensive and scalable solution using Adobe's Flash Media Server, Flowplayer's flash player for audio and video, a JQuery-based front-end for creating and managing playlists, and a Java-based backend for persisting and maintaining user-created playlists. Artemis Consulting performed scalability analysis and capacity planning to support a large volume of end-users. The website that uses many of the capabilities is called the National Jukebox.

Artemis Consulting helps build the Library of Congress's social media and sharing widget
Sharing widget lets users save or share any web page across the Library of Congress's tens of web properties
Feb 1, 2010 -- Artemis Consulting, Inc. worked with development partners and Library staff to implement the Library's sharetool. This tool lets users save or share any Library web content to popular sites like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. as well as save these pages into the Library's own portal site, myloc.gov. The sharetool also lets users email web pages with their own comments to any user. The sharetool was built using frameworks built on jQuery and PHP, and was designed to be better than commercial sharing tools like AddThis and ShareThis (trademarks owned by respective companies).

July 7, 2008 -- Artemis Consulting, Inc. helped define the use cases, requirements and system interfaces for the LCE. It also worked with development partners and Library staff to develop 57 Flash-based and Windows-based touchscreen kiosks that also interactive user experiences for onsite visitors. Artemis provide guidance on ensuring scalability of the myloc.gov system to a total of 500,000 registered user accounts. Aug 15, 2004 -- Artemis Consulting and Exactitude Consulting, an Arlington, VA-based company announced that they were in talks discussing a collaboration agreement to build a next generation Portal server product - Exactitude Portal Server - XPS - that is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
